The Un-Carrier

Walking into a BestBuy or RadioShack  (if it still exists in your neighborhood) you would get the impression that the USA only has 3 good cell phone providers. It seems the ranking is Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint. One is missing and I just wanted to take this time to spread some shed light on the Cinderella Carrier who doesn't get as much attention as the evil sisters.

-Jump |
T-Mobile kicked of the idea of installment billing. T-Mobile has many different version of its famous Jump program now available. But the idea is the same. You can switch to the latest and greatest device much faster than on a 2 year contract. The Jump also includes a warranty for the device which has given me so much peace of mind when using my device. You also get Lookout Premium which scans your device to keep it protected, helps you find who stole your device by sending you a nice selfie when it thinks it's being compromised and let's you ring it from your computer.

-Plans |
Promotions are going on all the time to lower your bill or recieve more for what you already pay. You even get the added bonus of Mobile HotSpot being included. It's simple to see the value amount for what you are getting and I love the concept of the date plans. When most carriers say you gave a 3GB plan, that means you can only use 3GB. Or else....but Magenta says 3GB. They mean 3GB of fast data and after that your plan will be slowed down. I love that. That means I can still use my phone, it just won't be as quick. That's much better than paying overages or being cut off completely.

-Binge On |
Remember that 3GB I mentioned earlier. If you watch Binge On enabled on your plan, Youtube videos do not count against your data. T-Mobile knows that videos are the easiest way to eat away at anyone's precious data, yet they decided to allow for many of the world largest video streaming services to not count against you.

-Music Freedom |
This promo will keep me as a customer for the rest of my life. I love all types of Music. Music loves me. I listen to music on my bike. I listen to music on my hour commute to work. Can you imagine what my bill would look like when I use my combination of Apple Music for Android, Google Music,  Spotify, and Amazon MP3 to satisfy my ears for a day off of wifi. I realize I could "pin" the music and not use data. But then I'm going to use majority of my storage space because I listen to a wide range of genres. Instead T-Mobile let's me stream as much as I want, all day long, and does not bill me an extra cent.

T-Mobile Tuesdays |
Normally when I'm telling someone about some new tech product or company, I have no benefit at all from them seeing the light. Now thanks to T-Mobile Tuesday, I own a share in the company. You can as well. T-Mobile is thanking it's customers by giving away free pizza, movie tickets, and even stock. If you already have T-Mobile then click the link in this article to sign up, if not go to your nearest store to get service, then click the link in this article to sign up. #getthanked

Captain Cater #Views from Google IO

Ok, Google... thank you for the official outlook for the future. Google I/O 2016: A recap of everything you need to know

This annual Google event showcased all the awesome new tech Google will be working on in the coming months. Prepare to be amazed.

Google Assistant

You can have a conversation with a Google Chat Box and it will return with all the information you need to know on a topic. It will be conversational. You can simply ask questions like who directed a certain movie. The follow-up question can be "what else did he direct" and Google will automatically know who the pronoun "he" is without you saying the name again. Now I will always have an educated friend to talk news and politics with.

Duo/Allo

"If Nike ain't have Drizzy, man they wouldn't have nothin', woo!
If Nike ain't have Don C, man they wouldn't have nothin', ooh!" -Kanye West

"If Apple ain't have Facetime, man they wouldn't have nothin!
If Apple ain't have iMessage, man they wouldn't have nothin!" -CaptainCater

Let me start by saying that I'm not an Apple Hater. I once owned 4 Apple devices at the same time. I still proudly own 2. I have my reasons. I love listening to others state the reasons they have iDevices. Most of the time its the blue color messages and Apple Facetime which only works on Apple devices...

When I tell others about its awesomeness, they go "yeah, but I still want an iPhone." The cool part about Hangouts was that it was cross-platform and could work on relatively any device even with different operating systems.

Duo and Allo are bringing a fresh name and features to the game. You can pre-register below

Duo will be the Facetime replacement that will work on Apple and Android and provide a quick and easy way for users to video chat using phone numbers over emails. It has a really cool feature called Knock Knock that will show you the other person on video before you answer so you can see why they are calling.

Allo will be Messaging on steroids. I didn't think much could be changed or adapted to be very different. Most messaging apps seem the same but little did I know Google was ushering us into a world to know more and less at the same time.  Within a text message, you can ask Google questions about lunch, agree on a spot, read the menu and take a reservation without ever leaving the message! Speaking of my excitement. You can resize text to larger or smaller so you can relay your emotions into the text or post quick photos within the thread.

Google Home

By today, many people know of the cool home voice assistant that can make you the life of the home party. Google is now entering the territory. I have met many people who already use "Ok, Google" to ask phones and tablets quick questions. Let us take it a step forward. Put this device in your home, always listening, and pair it up with all of your homes internet enabled devices = Mind Blown. This is the future of the home. Being able to quickly chomp information or take action without lifting a finger. You can ask it to play a certain song or playlist or you can tell it to shoot a certain news story or video to your television while your remote control is somewhere in between the couch pillows. Yes, Echo has similar features but Google is all-knowing and can be able to answer more questions and partner with more 3rd party developers to expand on the home voice assistant.
